Rockledge Gardens lies in Rockledge, Florida, and is situated in the Space Coast area. Rockledge Gardens was founded in 1931 by the Rev. W.intonrell Rockledge.
There are two main types of Rockledge Gardens: Southwestern Gardens and Central Gardens. The gardens are planted with largely shade tolerant plants and flowers, grown mostly in full sun throughout the year, and in containers. The Central Garden is planted in beds and is mainly a fruit garden; in the Southwestern Garden, plants are grown primarily for their foliage rather than fruit. Both types of Rockledge Gardens have beautiful flowers that come in all colors imaginable, including pink, blue, lilac, orange, lavender, mauve, and more. You will also see seasonal perennials such as Mexican poppy, pansy clover, morning glories, and red daisy.
The other type of Rockledge Gardens that you will find is the complete garden center. These have everything from flowerbeds, shrubs, and even perennials and flowering trees to complete your landscaping design. All the materials needed to create your own little oasis are included. This type of garden center allows you to design the entire outdoor living area and then enjoy the fruits of your labor, or at least that’s what they say.
The Spring Collection is a special offering in Rockledge Gardens. The first full week of April is “Greening Your Garden”, and this is your chance to get all the planting that you need in preparation for next weeks planting schedule. We have many spring plants available, including: tulips, daffodils, sunflowers, buttercups, honeysuckle, raspberries, and more. Wednesday-Saturday specials include: tomatoes, peppers, cherries, onions, blueberries, and more. You are also able to purchase any gardening supplies for that special occasion, such as: tools, seeds, planting books, planting guides, soil, fertilizer, planting scissors, shoes, brushes, gloves, and more.
There is a store located on the corner of our main road, and this is where all of Rockledge Gardens delivery and pick-up services are located. All orders can be placed on the phone, and it is very convenient to go to the farm and pick up any of your favorite items. If you are unable to come in person to pick-up your order, many of our farmers will ship out your order to your home. This option is usually preferred, because it is convenient, and most farmer friends are in your area. This option is also a lot more cost effective than driving to the local grocery store, which can save you quite a bit of money during the month.
We have received numerous phone calls from people throughout the area, telling us about how wonderful Rockledge Gardens really is, as well as how much they would love to be able to grow their own crops and vegetables, and finally express how thankful they are that they found Rockledge Gardens. One gentleman told us that he had taken turns working at this type of business for the past fifteen years, and he was starting to get discouraged because it was taking so long to complete his orders. Then a friend mentioned that they do have an excellent selection, and he decided to take his chance. He has now been working there full-time and cannot imagine doing anything else.
